I am not sure I'm ready to discuss the findings of my recent imaging but I'll mention it anyway...it turns out that there is/was a fracture and a slipping of a lumbar vertabra resulting in slight narrowing of the nerve path (supposedly pretty insignificant) and some related arthritis. The doctor gave me three options for treatment, none of which I am very interested in trying (even #1, which is to do nothing). What a revolting development. I'm only 30. I'm not supposed to have these sorts of problems, right? Before I went to the physiatrist (for my hands) and he listened to me complain about my back and ordered the x-ray showing a defect, my family doctor (the one I ranted on about in a previous post) used my age as an excuse: "I doubt it's anything too bad -- you're young. It's probably just a pulled muscle." Note to self: don't forget to find a new family doctor.
Oh well...I'll just try to convince myself that it makes me exceptional.
