Would you believe a student who calls twenty minutes before their two-hour-long shift and says that they aren't feeling well? What if you know that they have been to a doctor about this illness in the last few weeks? What if you also know that they are in a class that has a paper due very soon and everyone in the class has been frantically trying to finish in time...? I find myself wondering if this person is using their previous illness as an excuse stay home and finish their paper? Or are they actually not well? Hmmm....
What if this same person has used a similar excuse several times for a Friday afternoon shift...?
