My spring break

I just got back from a wonderful vacation to NY. Not only did I get to see my parents and Dave (the puppy) but I got to see Neil and NYC and I got to hear/see a lot of good music/art. It was an actual vacation! Here were the highlights of NYC:
  • Riverside Tower Hotel
  • Dinner with Pat, Zadie, Aine & Neil at Ozu
  • Non-panicked subway rides with Neil
  • Mark Morris Dance Group (fantastic!)...Phillip Glass was in the audience!
  • Target Free Friday Nights at the Museum of Modern Art (get there at about 3:30, wait for 30 mins and be in and looking at art for free by 4:15) - we lucked into that one...right place at the right time.
  • Sweeney Todd - it was pretty good, but what made the evening even better was that while waiting to go in, I was looking around at all the people and Rhea Perlman and Danny DeVito bustled right past me and entered the theatre. Cool! They are so wee! I was actually a little disappointed in the show, but it was good.
  • Times Square is actually on another planet. I'm convinced.
  • Strawberry Fields & the Dakota Hotel
  • Such a clear day on Thursday that you could see the Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island from miles away
  • Breakfast with Angela at Good Enought to Eat
  • Dinner with Brad at Bombay Masala
  • Train ride back up the Hudson to Albany - so pretty

It's nice to be back home...sorta. I did miss my kitties.
