Great big wad o' bills

Today on my way to work I drove past what appeared to be a great big wad of money bound together with a rubber band or a clip or something.

I couldn't help but think of that Simpsons episode where Lisa is in need of (and I think this is the premise) $500 to buy Bleeding Gums Murphy's album with hopes of broadcasting it over the radio in order to honor his memory. She comes across a big wad of cash on the sidewalk and goes to grab it. Little does she know, Mr. Burns has tied a string to the money and as she reaches out to pick it up, Burns yoinks it out of reach and tells Smithers to "drive!"

I was tempted to stop and watch the scene to see if anyone went to pick it up...only to have the cash yoinked out of their hands, but I was late to work. As I was walking into the building, I saw a car stop on the road and a guy got out and went to pick up the bills. I wonder if he'll turn it in or keep it. I wonder whose it was and what it was for. I wonder if it was his. Hmmm.
