It's going to be 70 today. That's kind of scary...but quite welcome! The daffodils we planted last fall are poking up through the ground (very exciting!) and the cats are begging to go outside so they can eat grass and then barf it up as soon as I get in bed at night. (How thoughtful of them!) However, the whole daylight savings time thing is being rough on me this year. My body won't accept the time change yet and I feel really tired. I want a nap! Of course, I did keep myself busy this weekend, so I'm a little worn out from all that activity.
On Saturday I took a walk downtown at the riverfront. The weather was absolutely gorgeous and there were tons of people out walking dogs and kids and themselves. I miss living downtown SO much at this time of year. Having the river right near our apartment was soooo nice. I don't like having to drive there to walk.
I spent yesterday obsessing about the books I got at the library Saturday afternoon. I got ten or so books about how to make curtains (my friend is interested in making some), pillows (I want to learn how to do piping and flanges and fringes and make them with zippered covers), and (this is what really got me going) handbags. I'm SO excited to try to make a bag it's bizarre. Maybe it's hereditary - my mom is obsessed with purses and bags...she can never find the perfect one. So maybe I can figure out how to make that perfect purse/bag and make a lot of money. Haha! Actually, I'm just excited to make something with my new sewing machine. Should be fun!
Sunday was spent going to the fabric store to buy fabric for my new obsessions. Then I decided to make some soup (white bean and black olive...sounded interesting) for lunch this week and to bake some banana bread for Neil. It was so sad when I took the loaves out of the pans and I realized that I really wasn't allowed eat it (no wheat for me!) I enjoyed the smell, though. Mmmmm.
So here I am at work again on this beautiful spring-like day, wishing I could be at home with my new fabric and books instead. Poo.
