So tiny! I think it's a mockingbird - at least one adult mockingbird has been hanging around for months now and the markings seem to match the adults. I thought his (?) leg was hurt because he had one foot curled under him strangely, but I think he just didn't quite know what to do with it yet. It may have been the first time he had stood on his own two feet. He kept running/hopping into the middle of the street on his wobbly little legs (like he was magnetically attracted to it). I kept running after him and moving him back to our neighbor's yard. He kept asking me to feed him. :( I finally put him under a bush and he seemed to feel more comfortable there and he stayed there all night. I went to work the next morning hoping that he'd either still be there (alive) when I got home or he'd just be gone and I'd never see him again...as opposed to being there not alive or in the middle of the road, squished. Thankfully, he was gone when I got home and I didn't see him flattened in the road. Hopefully he's learning to fly by now!
Phew!

I'm glad I don't find baby animals - I would want to take them all home! :)
