We came home yesterday and there was a faint smell of gas (again...we've smelled it before but it went away so we ignored it). Neil called the energy people and the guy came with a cool sniffer thing and detected a tiny leak in a valve on our furnace. Since we don't need heat until November or something, he turned off the gas to the furnace and we will need to have it replaced before turning on the heat. While we were outside waiting for the guy from Vectren to arrive, Arthur and Penny had a great time lying in the shade. Penny is so good - she just hangs out and stalks birds. Arthur hisses and growls at me if I go near him and he gets panicky and hides under the hydrangea bushes where it is impossible to get to him. If I try to grab him, he does that horrible cat scream that wakes the whole neighborhood and then he nearly rips my face off. He makes me crazy.
My new pocket PC came yesterday in the mail and all I've had a chance to do is open the box and peek inside. I hope it's goooood. :) I've never had one before, so I'm excited. My little Sharp electronic organizer died (the screen got all line-y and illegible even with new batteries) so I decided to upgrade now that handhelds have come down a bit in price.
The eye is still staring at me. Neil noticed that there are also water waves drawn on the wall thingy along the sidewalk by the eye. There's also random, somewhat creepy poetry scrawled on other buildings. Hmmm.
