He did 36 songs including the two encores. Lots of Beatles numbers, quite a few solo and Wings numbers. The crowd were loving it...except for the guy sitting next to me who seemed like he'd rather be home watching the game but was probably dragged there by his mildly enthusiastic wife. I really appreciated that Sir Paul got out there all alone with his guitar and sang a few numbers without the band (Blackbird, Maybe I'm Amazed, In Spite of All the Danger) or with a reduced band. Made the concert feel very intimate and personal, not to mention it made it very easy to hear him. It was so cool to hear that McCartney voice and know that he was right. down. there. I found it easy to forget that I wasn't listening to a recording or that I wasn't just watching the show on tv on huge screens with thousands of other people. Kinda surreal. He did say that he wanted a minute to soak up the love and he welcomed us to his living room. At times, I did feel like that -- like I was in his living room -- despite being in the uppermost tier of the stadium. At least it wasn't so loud up there.
Because I was directly to the side of the stage (sort of in the wings, but really high up) I was able to enjoy watching the people on the floor. One older man in the front row was clearly in heaven and I was able to live through him for a little while. Three people with glowsticks waved to the beat the entire night. A man grabbed an usher and they danced in the aisle. Three guys in ties near the back of the floor were dancing around like there was no tomorrow. So much joy.

One of the highlights of the evening for me was that I got to see him do his funny little run.
Mom bought over $200 worth of overpriced merchandise. We laid it all out on the bed in the hotel room and took pictures of it:

Hooray!
