Bumper Sticker and More

I just remembered a bumper sticker I saw a few weeks ago. It said:

Armed men are citizens.
Unarmed men are subjects.

Wow.

In other news, I spent the day running around trying to find pumpkins for a jack-o-lantern carving fest tomorrow. I went way up north of town to find a place a co-worker told me about and they wanted $8 a pumpkin! No way was I doing that.

So I drove out east of town to a nursery...they had a smallish bunch of pumpkins for $3-4 each! That's more like it. I bought ten and the girl gave me the cheaper price for all of them. :) Mums were on sale for $2 each...so I bought two HUGE buckets of mums for the porch. They're beautiful and purple.

As I was leaving the nursery, I decided to pull through the empty spot in front of me instead of backing up. Unfortunately, I didn't notice that there were bumper thingys in the lot (probably due to my excitement for getting a good deal), so I stepped on the gas (my gas pedal is a little sensitive sometimes...this was one of those times) and I drove right over the cement bumper thingy. Yeah, I'm awesome. My front wheels were trapped between the bumper in front of me and the one for the spot opposite. After a great amount of crunching and bashing I was able to free my poor car. A woman in the lot was very amused about my predicament and we exchanged eye rolls. I was a little afraid I wouldn't be able to get loose. I put the car in reverse and backed up but then it would make horrible crunching sounds and I'd panic and take my foot off the gas which, of course, made the car smash back down between the two cement things. Eventually I succeeded by ignoring the crunching sounds and the squealing of my tires. At least my car seems fine. Hooray for humiliating situations.

Then I drove to Sam's to get candy. Mmmm...candy. I've already sampled. Gotta make sure it's ok for the trick or treaters! I'm expecting that our neighborhood will be popular.

I've never seen such horrible traffic except at Christmas. Insanity. Very stressful and annoying.

Mom & Dad sent me a bunch of our old Halloween decorations in the mail. I've started putting them up - it's looking festive!
