More bad weather

Yesterday we were under a nine-hour-long tornado watch and we had three tornado warnings. One at 9am something, one at 3pm and one at 5pm. It was 70 outside. Today it will be 44. This weather needs to stop.

They sent us home early. I have a cold, so I was thankful for a little extra time to snuggle under the "magic blanket" and watch the weather on the news. We went to our basement again for the 5:00 warning. I sat on the floor playing solitaire on my pocket PC and Neil put on a plastic fireman's hat and played with a yo-yo that was in a box of random crap. Once or twice the scene struck me as very funny.

It was pretty stressful, knowing that we had to be on alert all day long and that we were in charge of getting patrons down to the safe location in the building. Plus, Neil and the gang were in Madisonville, KY...where there was an actual tornado on the ground at one point. Luckily, they got out of there before the storm hit. I'm glad they made it home ok. It seems silly, but I was so concerned about the kitties...I told them before I left home yesterday that if the big wind came, they had to get under the bed. I wonder if they did.

No bad weather predicted today. Just a cold front. Phew!
