Five years

Sorry I've been a little neglectful of this blog lately, but my hands have not been feeling up to it at all. They're in a sorry state.

Last night was a staff appreciation dinner for work (which I have never attended in the past because I think it's lame) and I got an email saying that I was going to receive a service award and that I needed to RSVP. Well, I called and said that I couldn't attend (I actually had a prior engagement, nyah nyah) and said good riddance to the whole thing. Well, the HR director just appeared in my 'office' and handed me a "certificate of appreciation" and a dumb little pin "in recognition and appreciation of continuous service" for five years. Whoopdie doo. I apologized for not being able to be there and he gave me a little guilt trip. Sigh. I guess the pin will forever live in the same drawer that my Pi Kappa Lambda pin and my high school honors and excellence in band pins live...wherever that drawer is anymore. Why do they feel the need to give people pins for stuff like this? Maybe I should just wear it. Ok, I put it on my shirt. Nobody can complain now. And what should I do with the certificate? I must have a folder for stuff like that somewhere. Lord knows I've got a bunch of them. No, I will not have it framed and hang it on my wall.

My goodness, for someone who doesn't really know what she wants to do in life, I've sure got a lot of awards sitting around in drawers.

Easter weekend was a welcome break. We didn't do anything really big for Easter but Meaghan's birthday was Sunday so we went to the Japanese steakhouse and had hibachi in celebration. Our chef made the fire alarm go off. Other than that, we did some cleaning and got some errands done. Excitement!

In other news: thanks to my muscle relaxer, last night I dreamed that Prince William called and asked me out on a date. Haha!
