Frankenkitty

Penny had her biopsy this morning. She went in without a fuss, was a very good kitty for the doctor, and now has a swollen wound stitched up with a number of black, nasty-looking stitches. They removed the part of the tumor that had ulcerated, so at least that might feel a little better once it has healed, as long as the cells don't go crazy and the thing doesn't erupt again.

She is still feeling the effects of the anesthetic so she is wandering around with gigantic pupils and is unable to relax. Hopefully she will get some sleep tonight. She ate ok and has been drinking, but no litter box action yet. I'm hoping she'll be ok with being shut in the extra bedroom tonight so she can't jump on the bed and open anything up, and so Arthur doesn't bother her. He is very wary.

We'll get the results back within a week, hopefully. The little piece they removed will be traveling up to Chicago and then out to California for examination. That's kind of disturbing.

It will be a relief to discover what exactly is growing in there, even if it's the worst...at least we'll know.
