You know what sort of week it will be when you burst into tears during your voice lesson because your teacher asks you not to sway while you're singing.
I really wish I didn't have to take these voice lessons. It's not that they're bad, it's just that my teacher will be playing the Queen of the Night in The Magic Flute this semester, which means she's pretty bad-ass, and whenever she says "try this" in conjunction with a demonstration, I know that when I open my mouth, the relatively atrocious mess that ensues will sound absolutely nothing like what just came out of hers. And that makes me sad. Because I would love to be able to sing like the Queen of the Night...maybe not that high, but I would at least like to be able to produce a sound that does not make me want to vomit. Of course, maybe if I vomited I would sound better....
